How Pleasant Pads Are Made
Pleasant Pads all have a top layer of 100% unbleached, undyed, organic linen. Under that are several layers of 100% cotton flannel and terry cloth. On the bottom is another layer of cotton flannel, which effectively helps keep the pad from slipping around.
Regular Pleasant Pads do not compromise with a layer of PUL (polyurethane laminate) for waterproofing, as do some cloth menstrual pads. PUL is not needed with the layers of terry and flannel, and it is not worth it to have plastic and chemicals added back in. The wings will help keep it in place.
All Pleasant Pads snaps are plastic, so there is no need to worry for those of you who are allergic to metal. (Conversely, if you are one of the rare few who are allergic to plastic, contact us about using metal snaps on your order and we'll try to accommodate.)
