Linen is an extraordinary fabric that is grown from the flax plant -- a natural fiber. The breathability, absorbency, and comfort of linen makes it an excellent choice for putting next to your skin. Unlike cotton which holds water, linen is very effective at absorbing moisture and wicking it away from the body. This is very important for any material worn next to or touching the skin. Both GOTS and Oeko-Tex standards prohibit a long list of toxic chemicals including azo-dyes, heavy metals, and pesticides (among others) in their production. Refer to our FAQ page for more specifics.
The off white and parchment pillowcases are made from 100% organic linen. The medium blue, charcoal gray, natural (tan), navy, light yellow, and sage pillowcases are made from 100% (European) Linen OEKO-TEX certified linen. For both the organic and colored linen, the inside seams are professionally serged to last a long while.
Each pillowcase is embroidered along one edge as shown (including the medium blue, charcoal gray, natural, navy, light yellow, and sage), to add some elegance to your healing sleep.

Testimonials
"I would absolutely recommend Pleasant Pillowcases! They are so comfortable and natural. I bought one for each of my children, and they love the feel too!!" ~Tenisa M.
"I have a great story for you. During an appointment, I asked my accupuncturist to test my pillow and he found it made me weak so I stopped using it and started investigating my options. Yesterday, I had another appointment and I had just received your pillowcases. So I put them on my regular pillow and another type of pillow for him to test. Both tested 'strong'! We took off the pillowcases and tested again. Both tested 'weak'! A repeat test showed the same. The linen pillowcases compensated/overcame whatever was in the pillows that was weakening to me. How wonderful!" ~Leslie Black
"I just wanted to tell you how grateful that I am for my linen pillowcase and am looking forward to future purchases from you. The first few nights that I slept on it, I slept so soundly that I did not want to get up in the morning. I have found that since I have been sleeping on it for a few more nights that my body is starting to adjust to it. I truly believe that the first few nights that my body was going through what I call a detox. Anyway I am just so thankful to you, and the Lord most of all for the gift of linen." -Amanda B.
