NEW FABRIC (3 weaves)
100% Linen - AMERICAN made in Pennsylvania
We are very excited to offer American made linen (100% flax) fabric! This fabric was made in Pennsylvania from a small, artesian, flat woven fabric manufacturer. While this fabric does not have either the GOTS or OEKO-TEX designation, it is a VERY high quality fabric. The raw linen is sourced in France from one of the top producers of linen in Europe with whom they have great confidence. The raw linen is either GOTS or OEKO-TEX certified and is a long fiber, wet spun linen. The mill in Pennsylvania does not have any certifications due to the expense and demand of those certifications. However, as American manufacturers, they already conform to very high environmental and labor standards! They operate through a transparent chain of suppliers and are committed to the use of minimal chemicals in the production of their fabrics. At this point they are just weavers, but have found American suppliers to soften the linen using water only (no chemicals!) once it is woven. They also have American sources for dyeing fabrics using more natural means.
Herringbone and twill are know for their performance, design, and strength.
These fabrics have many uses: bedding, table linens, home furnishings, towels, clothing, and more. Because of its strength, twill can be specifically used for chinos, jackets, table linens, and home furnishings. Herringbone is suited for jackets, skirts, dresses, and men's and women's suits.
These linen fabrics have been pre-shrunk. While it is still advisable that you launder before using, these fabrics will have just a slight amount of shrinkage upon washing and drying.

We are excited to offer the newest linen in four colors from a new manufacturer. These fabrics are 100% linen and carry the OEKO-TEX certification. What makes this fabric unique is that it is processed in a GOTS (organic) facility. That means it must use only GOTS (organic) certified chemicals in the dyeing (only AZO-fee dyes) and softening (enzyme softening) of the fabric. The only thing that makes this a non-organic fabric is that the raw linen is not organic. This raw linen is grown and sourced in Belgium. We formally tested this finished product in a lab for 65 pesticides -- none were found! You will love the feel and color of these fabrics!

While it is still advisable that you launder before using, this fabric will have a slight amount of shrinkage upon washing and drying. Also, this is a stiffer fabric than what we have previously offered. Less softening of the fabric lends itself to more longevity. Therefore, we have chosen to keep the fabric slightly stiffer with the thought that it will last longer.
